A little known fact about me – while I’m basically obsessed with skirts and dresses and all things girly, I have a frightening number of trousers languishing in my drawers. I don’t wear them nearly as much as I should, because when the sun comes out to play I get all excited about wearing frocks again, and I’m not one of those people who is cool enough to have worked out how to wear them with ankle boots in the Winter (those Instagram girls always seem to have naked ankles – how they haven’t caught their death I’ll just never know….!) so time and time again they tend to get overlooked. It doesn’t help that they are confined to the depths of my chest of drawers, so aren’t as visible to me as my vast collection of dresses.
Logically I should get more wear out of them than I do my dresses, because the weather can’t exactly be guaranteed in England, so a pretty pair of printed pants should be the perfect attire to avoid the dreaded ‘corn beef legs’, so with this in mind, I dusted off this lovely pair by Oasis last month.
As you know, when it comes to florals, I’ve pretty much already crowned Oasis king, on it isn’t hard to see why with these. I love the fresh Spring-like colours – which can be paired with both black and white respectively making them just as appropriate in the Autumn as the Spring. I also love the design, which has an oriental feel to it. Best of all, I love that I can just throw on my trusty denim jacket! See, I’m also not cool enough to pull of double denim! This particular outfit was worn on a post work and pre-quiz outing to Indian Brewery, and must have been lucky as we came tops! Another plus point – they were perfect for a casual trip to the pub, but they look equally nice with a pair of heels so make the perfect day-to-night trousers. Clearly I couldn’t be bothered to look smart this day though as it was flats all the way…!
