I’ve always been a fan of prints, particularly florals. There is something about an intricate design, or a striking combination of colours that can draw me right in in a way even the most perfect of cuts can’t. In my younger, less savvy years, I would frequently find myself buying things I just couldn’t wear due to the unflattering shape, all because I had fell in love with a darling pattern in the fabric.
These days I am not so daft, obviously! But a show stopping print still has the power to stop me in my tracks, and you don’t get much more eye-catching than this one! Part of that is the bold colour palette of blue, pink and orange with the red backdrop. But it helps that it has ALL THE FLOWERS on it! Like, could I even squeeze a few more flowers on there?? I love that the print is a little on the ditsy side, giving it the retro look I love so much, yet the shift shape of the dress and the bright tones of the colour combination give it a more modern edge, making it almost a little abstract.
Normally I’d probably have chickened out and gone all black with the accessories, but there isn’t really much point trying to blend in in an outfit quite as loud as this one, is there? So I braved it and paired it with these bright red ankle boots. I actually haven’t worn them in a while as that platormed style is starting to look a little dated now, so I’m on the look out for an upgrade that’s a little less vertiginous! Hit me up if you spot the perfect pair!

Love those shoes! Normal heels are ok but I’ve yet to master walking in platforms like those!

Thanks! I have to admit I don’t do it much these days either, I normally have a pair of flats in my bag for any serious walking! These are strictly for weekend activities! x
