Reasons to be Cheerful – My Growing Garden

Garden 1 (2).JPG

So, as part of the ongoing mission to transform myself from city girl to country bumpkin (yeah right – don’t hold your breath!) prepare yourself for the next shocking revelation:

I GROW THINGS NOW!!

I know! ME!! Me who has never really accomplished anything more green fingered than having a couple of orchids and a pot of basil on the windowsill – a pot of basil that dies and has to be replaced with regular frequency, may I add…. Well, now that I’m all country and shiz I am the proud owner of a fully functioning garden! I have sweetpeas, I have herb gardens, I have tomatoes and strawberries and courgettes and carrots and spring onions and all sorts an the go! I am a bonafide gardener, and I bloody LOVE IT!! I feel proper smug actually, like I’m suddenly completely self sufficient with my couple of green strawberries and a thriving supply of chives… hmm might have a bit longer to go before I’m making my own jam I think! Still though, I’m genuinely surprised at how much I’m enjoying coming home everyday and seeing how my little babies are getting on. And the first time we get to eat the spoils of our labour? Well, that will be pretty darn cool.

Ok. Hands up, I’m going to have to confess something here. It is blatantly Dan that has built the planters, planted the seeds and remembered to water them everyday so I might have gotten a little bit carried away with this post. I was there though. That counts right?

Ok, I promise to cook him something nice once it’;s all been harvested, will that do…? Not the sweetpeas though, obvs!

Love,

Sig
