When life gives you lemons – get yourself a lace midi dress. That’s one of my motto’s anyway. (Also, get yourself a circle skirt, and a pair of printed capris, some peep toes and a nice clutch. Something with bows if poss. And a good bottle of Sauvignon Blanc wouldn’t go amiss…..)
Well, if you’re going to follow my advice and get yourself a lace midi, it might as well be this one from Ted Baker. Classic 50’s style length & shape – check. Pretty floral lace design – check. Gorgeous, Spring-fresh mint green shade – check! This frock is just stunning, and looks even better in real life than it does in the pics – I was extremely smitten when I pretended not to be looking at it during my last trip into town. While you’re at it, wouldn’t it just look perfect with these beautiful rose print pumps?
I actually have a rule that I don’t spend more than £50 per item (if it isn’t a ‘special’ purchase) so unless someone is feeling REALLY generous, this one isn’t destined to be mine. I did, however, find this one – a rather fetching mint lace number from Dorothy Perkins. At a more conservative price of £32, this one is bit tougher to resist. This colour was selling out fast at the time of writing, but it does also come in pale pink and black!
The shoes though? No, the shoes have to be the real thing….
