Outfit: Resisting Temptation

Now, we all know I’m a big fan of shopping. That’s pretty much the world’s worst kept secret. So it should come as no surprise that I’d jump at the chance to go and visit a designer outlet, and that’s exactly what I did on our trip away last week, which just so happened to be down the road from Bicester Shopping Village. Now, I’m not a big spender as you know, so I had no plans to go on a massive spree or anything, but being able to see and touch designer pieces in real life instead of just post about them on Fantasy Fridays? Yes please! So off we went….!

Obviously, when planning a serious shopping trip, comfort is key. I opted to wear this lovely little Oasis dress which is comfy but still cute, and the bright bird print cheers up a grey day (which you can see it definitely was from the pics!). I wore it with my trusty Boohoo ankle boots, which are super comfortable despite the slight heel, and a matching saddlebag – a cross body bag is essential if you’re serious about shopping, keep those hands free to fondle those luxe fabrics and handbags – and a long cardi to keep out that Winter chill. Oh, and then I basically ruined the look entirely by doing what I always do and throwing on that scruffy grey cardigan I’m always wearing…! Well, you don’t want to be lugging a big coat around when there are bargain buys to load up with, do you?

Despite the rubbish weather and the fact my bank balance just doesn’t accommodate most of the treats on offer, I had a really lovely day browsing Jimmy Choo, Oscar de la Renta, Mulberry and the like. It felt more ‘special’ than your average window shop somehow, so much so that I had a glass of Prosecco with lunch – how very decadent of me! There have been some new stores open since I was last here – most notedly Kate Spade, I’m sure you can imagine the volume of my squeal when I turned the corner and saw that! You’ll be pleased to know that I resisted temptation and didn’t do anything silly like come home with armsful of Kate Spade handbags, but it was tough. I nearly cried a little walking out of the door (much to the amusement of the shop assistant, which I thought was pretty insensitive, I mean, she gets to be there all day everyday!) and consoled myself with a couple of treats from the Beauty store (a new Clinique Chubby Stick and a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in case you’re interested).

Problem is though, since starting this entry I’ve realised it would’ve made a great Fantasy Friday post if I’d taken some pics of the best bargains I spotted, so I guess I’ve got no choice but to go back and visit Kate again. Though I can’t promise I’ll be so restrained this time…
