It’s a quarter of the way through the year, people. Lets just absorb that information for a moment. Yesterday it was Christmas, and now we’re a quarter of the way through the year. Is it just me that is slightly alarmed by this? Especially as I feel like I can’t really account for what I’ve been doing for the last four weeks. I seriously think someone might have stolen March from me….
To be fair, it’s been difficult to do much of anything interesting lately, because the weather just hasn’t wanted to co-operate. Worse than that actually, I think perhaps the weather is actually conspiring against me. I am starting to take it personally! It isn’t just that it is bad (though let me be clear, it has been bad. Very bad) it’s the fact it has flitted from one extreme condition to the next on a regular basis, rendering me completely incapable of deciding what to do for the day, or indeed what to wear for said uncertain activities! Packing for a few days in Birmingham has become a very complex task of trying to be prepared for all possible weather outcomes. Let’s face it, I’m indecisive at the best of times, so this has just made me a completely useless human being. It has also been particularly cruel recently too, by giving us fleeting moments of Spring-like weather, making me believe for a moment that this endless Winter is finally over:
Then 5 minutes later it’s all…:
Thanks. Thanks a lot, Mother Nature. My mood is unfortunately severely affected by the weather, so I probably haven’t been the nicest person to live with lately (sorry Danny). As a result, most of our weekends have looked a lot like this:
Anywho, there have, of course, been little rays of sunshine (pun intended). The hot tub was finally installed! We haven’t managed to spend a huge amount of time in it just yet thanks to all the rain (oh yeah, when it hasn’t been snowing it’s been raining. Torrential rain, obvs) but the few occasions we have managed to get some tub time in have been absolute bliss. It still feels a little surreal, but only for a second or two before we succumb to the overwhelming sense of peace and relaxation. Honestly, who the eff do I think I am, moaning endlessly about the weather when I have a hot tub in my garden?? I really should get over myself, shouldn’t I, I am clearly a very fortunate person!
I also got a hair cut! Granted, it snowed the moment I stepped out of the salon, but for the short period when it still had that ‘just done’ feel to it, I was thrilled. I have been really enjoying my new do, the only reason I allowed it to get so long was because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with it and it feels good to have chopped off all that dead weight!
We’ve also managed to get a few date nights in this month which has been lovely! We are so lucky in that we work together, so we get to spend a lot more time together than your average couple, but it’s also important to make sure that some of that time is quality time, so we’ve had a few evenings out together doing our most favourite of activities – EATING ALL OF THE FOOD! We really should try to find some less fattening hobbies. But CHEESE…!
So that’s been March! Not the most exciting read I’m afraid, but we have some fun plans ahead in April, and perhaps Spring might hurry it’s ass along and we can finally come out of hibernation!! Stranger things have happened, so here’s hoping…!
How was your March?
Love,
Love the haircut! Also, waaaay jealous of your hot tub.

Thank you! It is awesome, so much easier to get through a tough day now knowing I can get in the tub and chill when I get home! X
