For those not in the know, Shoeaholics.com is the official online Kurt Geiger Outlet Store. Those of you familiar with the website will know this is where you can get yourself all the top High Street names usually associated with Kurt Geiger, such as Carvela, Lipsy, Nine West and more, at heavily discounted prices. Those of you who aren’t – you will either love me or hate me for bringing this to your attention by the end of this post! Usually the stock here is out of season or ex-display, accounting for the low prices, and sometimes come with a disclaimer that there may be slight cosmetic damage, but I’m yet to receive a purchase from here that is anything less than perfect, and as I’m sure you can imagine, I’ve shopped here a lot!
As if the site wasn’t already exciting enough, Shoeaholics are famous for running flash sales where all items fall under a certain price band. And they are running one such event RIGHT NOW PEOPLE with everything just £39 or less! Yes, you read that correctly!
Now, the initial reaction is obviously to rush over and buy every frivolous thing you possibly can before it’s too late, but if you’re anything like me that will probably mean waking up tomorrow in a blind panic about your overdraft! So if you can quash that crazy urge for a minute or two and get to the end of this post without reaching for your credit card, you could actually use this as an opportunity to invest wisely, and pick up some some high quality pieces that will last you a good few years. Here are my top 5 picks that I definitely wouldn’t feel guilty for buying….
Most fashion lovers will have a good pair of classic black peep toes in their collection (ok, I have three, but lets not go there). The old addage that black goes with everything is largely true, so if you have a pair that make you feel amazing you will always have a go to option for a big night out, whatever frock you decide to wear. These are pretty high, so perhaps only for the braver shoe collectors, but that curvy shape is just lovely, and a suede finish always gives a luxe look. If you’re lucky enough to be a size 7 there were also a couple of these left in a matte nude at the time of writing!
While I’m a big believer in the aforementioned ‘black is best’ rule, sometimes you want something a little lighter, particularly if you’re wearing pale colours, like the pastels in my previous post. Enter the simple nude pump – easy to pair with most colour combinations with the added bonus of leg lengthening properties! These Miss KG cuties are a perfect Spring neutral, the snakeskin effect add texture without detracting from your outfit and at a slightly more conservative height these should be both day and night appropriate.
Now, sufferers of SAD like me probably have very little interest in buying boots right now, but these next three picks show how buying out of season can land you with some absolute bargains. These Carvela boots are the perfect Autumn/Winter essential – low enough to wear in the day and dress up a simple tea dress or jumper and jeans combo, but that pointed toe, metallic heel and suede finish make them suitably dressy too. These fill a gap in my own collection, and while they’re still available in my size I’m finding it very hard to say no!
A good pair of smart ankle boots can also be a life saver in the colder months, keeping outfits a little fresher and less ‘bundled up’. I love the shape of these Miss KGs and that ankle strap keeps them from looking too plain.
Lastly, as much as I don’t want to admit it, you can’t wear stilettos all winter. Once the frost settles you don’t want to be skating around like Bambi, risking broken bones. That’s where a more casual ankle boot becomes your best friend. Tan is another great neutral that will go with pretty much anything, and the low chunky heel and leather upper on these bad boys should make them all weather friendly.
