Fantasy Friday – Elise Ryan Organza Prom Dress

Would you just look at this dress? Just. Look.

Elise Ryan
Elise Ryan Bandeau Midi Prom Dress In Organza Floral Print, £82, ASOS

I want it in ways I can’t quite describe. It’s so pretty I almost can’t look directly at it. That bold rose print, that full skirt, that lovely sheer organza fabric – swoon. It looks like something straight out of Mad Men, and I’m pretty sure it would be near impossible to wear it and not feel like a 1950’s débutante. Now, at £82 I think this dress comes pretty cheap for what looks like a high quality piece, but with a bit of a shortage of balls or galas going on in my life right now it isn’t something I could justify buying (I’d love to say I’d wear it to one of the several weddings I have coming up this year, but Ollie knows full well I’ve already used that excuse for the other umpteen new dresses in the spare room…) – it would simply be a crime to own something this beautiful and have it hanging unworn in your closet (sudden idea – dresses as installation art?? I would happily ‘display’ this one!).

CHANEL ROUGE COCO SHINE  in Romance, £25, Debenhams

ASOS have paired this with silver sandals, and I agree that metallics are a perfect match, though I think I personally would pair those summery pink and green tones with a warm gold, like these barely-there sandals from Topshop and ladylike box clutch from Accessorize. I’d top off the look with a slick of glossy, blush pink lipstick – lately I’ve been wearing Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in ‘Romance’, which I think would be the perfect match! Having been a Rouge Allure fan for many years I recently discovered this newer lippy and was instantly converted (I now own two, and am on the look out for a Coral shade to add to the collection!) As with all of the Chanel Beauty products I’ve tried, this smells amazing and feels luxurious, it’s super light and glossy, feeling more like a balm than a lipstick, but the colour lasts much longer than a lipgloss would, and doesn’t leave your lips feeling dry. If, like me, you just don’t have the budget to buy designer goods, buying a little treat like this can really help to make you feel a bit special without breaking the bank!

Here’s dreaming of cocktails and croquet on the lawn, dahlings…..!
