Saturday Shopping – Red, White and Blue

Since it was St George’s Day this week, and as we’re once again eagerly awaiting news of another Royal baby, I’ve gone all patriotic for this week’s shopping trip!

I’ve already touched on florals and pastels, but another colour combo that we see a lot in Spring is red, white and blue. I’m a huge fan of this look all year round to be fair, particularly when there is a breton stripe involved, and a store that’s got a great range of primary colours in at the moment is Dorothy Perkins. Dorothy Perkins, or Dotty P’s as it’s affectionately know in my family, is a store I shunned for many years – in my youth I thought of it as a little old or mumsy for my tastes. The last few years though have completely changed my perceptions – not only is it one of the few places I seem to be able to find skirts and dresses of an appropriate length, it is also extremely affordable. It’s now a store I regularly pop into for a browse on my way home from work (and I’m more often than not seduced into picking up a little treat while I’m in there!) and when I paid a little visit last week I decided it was the perfect place to feature in this post.

Here are my favourite red, white and blue picks, which get me thinking about the seaside and boat trips! Doesn’t hurt that they’re also giving me outfit inspiration for a 4th July party I’m off to this summer!

Psssst – if you head over there before midnight on Monday you can take advantage of one of their famous Fashion Events – they’re currently offering 30% off EVERYTHING and free delivery on orders over £30! You’re welcome!

Happy Shopping!
