Saturday Shopping – Statement Ankle Boots

Now, I’m in danger here of sounding like someone who knows a thing or two about ‘fashion’, because I have it on good authority that statement ankle boots are set to be big this Winter. Ok, ‘good authority’ means I can’t help but notice there appear to be a lot of them around, but that doesn’t sound very impressive does it? So I’m going to stick with my first statement.

As you know, I’m actually not someone who knows a thing or two about ‘fashion’, so of course the vast majority of them look downright stupid to me. Completely ridiculous and clown like. But what the heck do I know? Not a lot truth be told. So naturally, when I first became aware that this was trending (oooh, look at me, I used a millennial word!) I assumed a ‘Things I’m Not Cool Enough To Wear post would soon be writing itself for your reading pleasure, and off I popped to spend an hour or two trawling the Internet for footwear. All in the name of research, you understand.

Funny thing though – they’re actually not all bad, you know. In fact, I found a few that were rather attractive. I started to find myself really wanting a pair or two, especially once I realised some of them were glittery. WE HAVE DAYTIME APPROPRIATE GLITTER, PEOPLE, I REPEAT, DAYTIME APPROPRIATE GLITTER! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Well, I don’t need talking into buying glittery footwear as you well know, but glitter isn’t where it ends, oh no. Basically anything that stands out counts, as long as it comes in ankle boot form. Metallics, bright colours, embellishments – anything goes. Here are some of those that I don’t find completely ridiculous…
