Ah, the end of season sales! A dangerous time for fashion lovers, especially fashion lovers who can’t quite let go of the Summer! I have to admit, I had a little bit of a splurge this month, but it isn’t my fault, it’s Oasis’ fault. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it….
So in all seriousness, I have to say I’m thrilled with my ill gotten gains!
Oasis has always been a weakness of mine thanks to their particular skill at florals and tea dresses, but surprisingly as you can see, it was not that which caught my eye in their end of Summer sale! Well, that isn’t technically true – there were oodles of pretty little floral frocks I wanted, but I stood firm!! No, I was pretty darn sensible and used it as an opportunity to stock up on some staples that I know I will get plenty of use out of all year round! Working in an office, a good blouse is crucial to my work day wardrobe, and not only are these little short sleeved numbers both the perfect shape and made from the dreamiest fabric, they also are two of my all time favourite shades! A little on the summery side, perhaps, but I’ve never allowed the change of seasons to stop me wearing pastels so I’m not too concerned. And thanks to the incredibly mild Autumn we’ve had so far, the sage green version has already had an outing as it’s the perfect match for my favourite Mango skirt!
I also couldn’t pass up the chance to grab these cami tops! As you know, I bagged it in baby blue back in July and kicked myself for not getting the sage green version before it sold out – well, I finally managed to right that wrong! I also picked it up in a deep burgundy colour as it goes so well with a lot of my Autumn outfits – it’s already been worn for a Saturday afternoon at the pub and I can’t wait to wear it in a dressier ensemble! And the polka dot bag? Well, that was a little frivolous to be honest, but I don’t feel like I’m going to regret it anytime soon….
You may also notice there was another new bag in that photo! Yes, while doing a spot of Christmas shopping (yes! I’ve started already! Go me!) in New Look this mustard colour crept into my basket. Again, it was a little frivolous, but after all those summery pastels I thought I should probably start taking Autumn dressing a little more seriously, and what better colour than mustard??
And my final act of splurging, a little spree in old faithful Primark, definitely demonstrated that I was ready to step into Autumn!
This scarf jumped out at me immediately on a display and after a what felt like hours of hunting it down (don’t you hate it when that happens?? Stores take note, if you’re going to put an item on all of the mannequins in the window make sure shoppers can actually find it once inside!!) there was no question I was going to be taking it home – well, after the effort it took to unearth it I’d kind of already committed! Luckily it was as soft as it looked an I’m completely in love with it. So much so I can even forgive the amount of fluff it leaves over everything…! This bag was grabbed at the same time. My old tan cross body bag has lost it’s fastener so has been relegated to the realms of dog walking only and I’ve been on the hunt for a new one. I loved the generous size of this one and that little extra detail on the front. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know it has worked it’s way seamlessly into my everyday wear already! And finally those boots! I mentioned in this post a while back that I was planning on retiring my existing red ankle boots. They’re a few years old now with a hefty platform and it just isn’t a style I wear much anymore so I was hoping to find something with a more elegant shape. I was planning to invest and was happy to spend a decent amount, but nothing seemed to be quite right. And then on that fateful day I spotted them – the exact shape I was looking for, in Primark of all places!! Obviously they are pretty cheap so I’m actually considering getting a couple of spare back up pairs for when they inevitably fall apart, because currently I can’t quite bare to be without them! See Instagram for evidence:
And that’s about it for this month! Who’d have thought I’d actually have gotten excited about Winter wear?? Miracles do happen, it seems!
Love,

I really thought I might struggle to get much use out of such bright boots but I’ve really found it so easy! Definitely a great purchase!

I love when that happens! Some pieces that I’m like, “I’m not sure I’ll get much use out of these” are the things I end up wearing the most!
