It’s a very smug monthly purchases round up post coming to you today. Not because I’ve been good. To be fair, if I’d been that good I wouldn’t have bought anything at all, and then there wouldn’t be much of a point to writing the post in the first place! No, I haven’t been good. I’ve shopped my little heart out this month, but the main theme this month is unbelievable discounts, so I’m not feeling even the teeniest bit guilty, in fact, I’m chuffed to bits with my beautiful new bargains!
First up, I’m sure none of you could have forgotten this beauty:
I first wrote about this skirt in this post, an ode to H&M’s specific skill at creating beautiful, voluminous skirts at a reasonable price point. I still stand by the fact that the original £60 tag was a reasonable price point – a quick fondle of the acres of heavy, glittery, tapestry fabric of this gorgeous thing would have you thinking it cost far, far more. However, seeing as voluminous and rather dressy skirts are both not something I’m short of, nor something I make a habit of wearing nearly enough, £60 was still just a little too much for me to justify spending. I’d actually just about forgotten about it, when I stumbled across one in the H&M sale with a 50% off sticker on it. Sadly, that one was a size 16, so I trawled the other stores in Birmingham for a smaller size of the skirt, which I believed to now be just £30 to no avail. I didn’t think of checking online until after I’d run out of stores – all the best bits seem to sell out almost immediately online. At least, they do when it’s something I want! So you can only imagine how chuffed I was to find out it was still in stock in my size, but also not £30 at all – it was actually £23.99. Not only that, but on the particular day I happened to visit the website, there was also a flash discount of 20% off all sale items! So in the end I bagged it for the measly price of about £19! I’m head over heels in love with it, and luckily had an event to go to the very same week it arrived, so it’s almost like it was meant to be. No regrets people, no regrets! There are actually still a handful of sizes left so you might be able to get one too if you’re lucky – no 20% off sale this time, but £23.99 is still a great price for such a beautifully crafted piece in my opinion!
My next little bit of fashion fortune came via the amazing sale Collectif have been having of late. I’d been kicking myself because I’d been meaning to pick up a couple of bits as a gift and had missed a 30% off discount code. I’d decided to go ahead and buy them anyway and headed over to work out what I’d have to forgo to come in at budget – to my surprise I found their half price sale had started that very day! Anyone else who hit the sale on day one will know the site was experiencing some major technical difficulties, so it was a time consuming and nail biting hour or so trying to get, and keep, my chosen treats in my basket and get to the check out! I made it though, and it was more than worth the wait for these two lovelies:
Yes, of course I added a couple of bits for myself too, I’d be stupid not to! It was tough to pick as you all know how enamoured I’ve been with a lot of Collectif’s Summer collection this year, but in the end I opted for the Caterina dress I wrote about here and the Lucy cardigan featured here. I almost didn’t believe the code would truly give me 50% off as it seemed too good to be true, but sure enough, I tapped it in, and the cost of my basket halved, and it’s taken all my willpower not to head back over for a second splurge!
Lastly, these were not a sale bargain, but I’m smug about them all the same:
Yes, I wrote about these only last week and now here they are, happily living with me in my collection. There was just no way I was going to let them slip through my fingers a second time, and I’m thrilled to bits with them. I actually think I might love them a little bit more than the originals, though I can’t promise I still wouldn’t snap them up if they happened to appear in my watch list on eBay….!
So that’s July! I’d love to say that should be me sorted for the Summer, but I do have a holiday coming up in September, so there might be more sundresses yet…..
Love,
That h&m skirt is beautiful 😍
