Outfit: Feeling Flamenco

Flamenco 2.jpg

I don’t know what it is about this dress, but it makes me feel all Spanish! Maybe it’s the striking black and red print? The subtle ruffle detail at the edges? The dipped hem at the back? All three of the above, perhaps? Whichever it is, there is more than a little hint of Flamenco style going on in this dress, which, reading back this post, you wouldn’t think would be a look I was hoping to emulate? Still, when I walked into Primark what feels like yonks ago and saw this on a mannequin at the front of the store I instantly wanted it.

It might be partly down to the fact I in the full throes of my reignited passion for wrap dresses, for starters. And black and red does seem to be a combo I just can’t stay away from – just see the evidence here, here, here, here, here, here….. need I go on? Either way, it was one of those rare occasions where I spy something and feel the need to run around the store in a flap, crying WHEREISITWHEREISITWHEREISIT??? before immediately marching it directly to the till lest someone swipes it from under my nose. I guess I just had a feeling me and this dress were meant to be, and do you know what? I think I was right.

I feel kinda spesh in this dress. In fact, I’d go as far as to say, I feel almost – dare I say it – sexy?? If you know me, you will be aware that I’m rolling on the floor laughing at the idea of me being sexy right now. But sure enough, that’s how I felt when I put it on! Possibly down to the low cut neckline – which I’ve made more modest with a vest layered underneath here – or the daring flash of leg at the split – which, again, I’ve had to temper with a strategically placed safety pin to avoid flashing my pants to the whole office – which all combine to make me feel like a bit of a saucy senorita! Or maybe they just make me fantasise about Spanish holidays, and a dark, handsome stranger plying me with sangria and whisking me off my feet in a passionate Paso Doble…. just kidding Dan, you know you’re the only Lothario for me!

I wore this outfit to the office so went conservative, but with the confidence this dress gives me, I think I could be convinced to don it on a night out, sans vest and safety pin and with a killer pair of heels!

Quick, record the date and time, because you are unlikely to hear me say things like this ever again!

Love,

Sig
